INTERNSHIPS

The Greensboro Science Center's internship program is designed to give selected college and graduate students the opportunity to utilize their academic knowledge in a professional work setting. Participants will find that their internship experience will help them develop leadership skills, determine future goals, and network with professionals. Interns may receive course credit for their internship by completing all school and program requirements. Internships are unpaid and housing is unavailable.

All internships at the Greensboro Science Center are currently filled. Internships are available each semester based upon staff requests. Previous internships offered include: Zoo Intern, SciQuarium Intern, Herpetology Intern, Education Intern, Marketing Intern, Digitization Intern.

Fall internships will be posted no later than July 2014.

Part-Time Membership Clerk
The Greensboro Science Center is searching for part-time membership clerks. Primary duties include: checking in members, membership sales, operating a point-of-sale cash register, conveying accurate information to the public, assisting visitors, and maintaining a clean and organized work space. Excellent communication skills, work ethic, and multi-tasking required. Must be willing to work both weekends and weekdays on a rotational schedule. Hours rotate but typically are between 15-20 a week. Part-Time Custodian
The Greensboro Science Center is currently accepting applications for a part-time custodian. This position is responsible for keeping the buildings and grounds in a clean and orderly condition. The individual will perform cleaning duties such as mopping or vacuuming floors, washing walls and glass, and removing trash . Duties include mainly indoor but some outdoor custodial work. Applicants should be able to stand for an eight hour shift and regularly lift up to 50 pounds. This is a part-time position with a 25 hour work week. Occasional weekend and holiday hours.
