These leagues teach buddy building and basic simple machines. Students learn about the basics of mechanics and program sequencing.
Each year, the Greensboro Science Center sponsors several FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. teams. FLL Jr. is for children ages 6-7 (by start of first class) who enjoy engineering challenges using LEGO® bricks.
The teams at the GSC will meet once a week starting in January for 1 hour and 30 minutes meetings. Students learn to combine moving robotic parts with creative solutions to problems. Junior Leagues are not competitive; they are meant to be a celebration of each team’s work. If your child participates on a team, it will involve a commitment to attend the weekly meetings. There are no prerequisites to join an FLL Jr. team; the age is the only restriction. We’ll end the season with a fun FLL Jr. showcase at a local FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) event to show what our teams have learned.
Get pumped for the FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. 2017/2018 season. In the AQUA ADVENTURESM Challenge, more than 40,000 children will navigate the uncharted waters of this important resource. Find out where the water you use in your daily life comes from, and what happens on its way to you. Where will this current voyage carry you?
Look for registration for FLL Jr. on the Greensboro Science Center website in December.
